Woodbine Mohawk Park kicks-off the week with an 11-race card. The feature goes in Race 9, an Open Handicap Trot with a $58,500 purse. The 0.20 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 8, and the sequence will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8

5-Century Gigalo (5-1)-This 5-year-old has been deep in the hunt over the last 4 races. Now makes the 1st start off a claim for Moreau and was JMacs choice over the 6. Gets some post relief and will look for a big effort.
6-Heresthatmanagain (8-1)-Finally gets a prime post draw and will also get the services of McNair. Those changes might lead to an overdue victory at a very nice price.
8-Julerica (2-1)-Got on the point from post 9 in a quick 26.2 opening panel and was overtaken down the lane. This will be the 2nd start for the Moreau barn, should be out and winging again and might not get tackled this time.

Race 9

9-Fashion Frenzie (9/5)-This looks like a 2-horse race between this 4-year-old and #8 Forbidden Trade. Willing to push them all in here with the Moreau trainee who has won 6 of 7. Has the gate speed to crossover and not look back once again.

Race 10

4-Larjon Lucky (5-1)-Benefitted from an efficient, patient drive by Henry in last and popped at 21-1. Filion will be in the bike and a similar trip is possible. Won't be a huge price but should offer fair value and this 6-year-old can stay good for a while.
7-Snap Test (5/2)-Couldn't catch a well-rated winner after going 1st over for almost a half mile. This will be the 2nd start for the Lester barn and the 2nd race in succession at Wbsb. Looked good in the 1st start since 7-15 at the big track and may finally get in the win column at Mohawk (0-42).

Race 11

1-Toughsonofabeach (15-1)-Comes off an aggressive drive in the 1st start for the Montini barn. Showed 26.4 speed to blast out from the 9-hole and faded badly. Was in good form, so will excuse last and swing for a price with JMac in the bike.
3-Vicious Aloicious (7-1)-Should race near the top of the stack. Can hang around and use one move down the lane to cash the top check. Hasn't won in quite a while and may have found a beatable field.
7-Bettor Notbitter A (7/2)-Has hit the board in all 3 starts with one win since being claimed on 8-29. Beaten chalk is pace dependent and the fractions could be lively.
