The 1/ST BET Win Projections are spread thin in this one. #8 Rijeka (10-1 ML) and #3 Ward N Jerry (5-1 ML) are very tepid 17% and 16% top picks. Three others (#2, #6, #9) cloud the picture between 11% and 13%, the latter being 2-1 morning line favorite #9 Il Capitano. Based on budget and ticket construction, tossing the favorite here and settling on the top two appears the best approach.

#8 Strange Addiction (3-1 ML) has a solid 5-point edge here at 23% to 18% over #9 Laura Branigan (6-1 ML). Both are coming off maiden-breaking wins and the latter’s local score is worth including on the ticket. There’s a wide gap to the rest in the AI here.

Similar to Race 7, there’s not a wide swath here in the numbers and could be a spread race to consider. #2 Riveting Spirit (4-1 ML) tops the field at just 18%, while price play #3 Dramatizer (12-1 ML) is right on her heels at 17%. Fellow longshots #1 Bestrella (15-1 ML) and #4 Busker Allie (12-1 ML) are right there at 14% and 12%. The 2-1 morning line favorite #6 Derrygoolin hits at only 10%, so the numbers suggest beating the chalk with the prices.

#2 Upright (5-1 ML) at 19% and #5 You Enjoy Myself (9-5 ML favorite) at 18% are among only four runners in this nine-horse field to reach double-digit Win Projections. There’s not a wide gap to the other pair, #3 Playboy Style (3-1 ML) at 14% and #1 Son of Shanghai (5-1 ML) at 13%, but they don’t add any price opportunities and may cost more adding to the ticket than value they bring. Going four-deep in a nine-horse field with nothing over 5-1 ML is difficult to recommend.
