Forecast: Thought Process was given an easy run sprinting on dirt in her debut in late July and then got serious when stretched out on grass in her next appearance last month. The daughter of Collected performed like a seasoned pro, switching off beautifully during the early stages while waiting to be given her cue before accelerating with an impressive turn of foot to take control when ready and draw away with ease and power. She moves into stakes company today to face a far more competitive group but if her improving pattern continues the P. D’Amato-trained juvenile should have no difficulty scoring right back. A bullet five furlong breeze (1:02.1h tc du) around dogs in the interim adds fuel to the fire, so at 9/5 on the morning line she qualifies as a strong win play and main key in the various rolling exotics.

Forecast: A lightly raced import with developing form, News At Ten (GB) looks ready for his first North American victory in this entry level allowance turf miler following a couple of preps that should have him set for a significant forward move. After flashing speed and then fading in a five furlong grass dash, he missed the break and trailed early in a similar sprint affair but then uncorked a wicked late kick to wind up third while clearly best. With the classic two-sprints-and-a-stretch pattern, the English-bred four-year-old gets what should be his ideal trip (he was strictly a miler overseas) and if given the patient ride he prefers the J. Sadler-trained gelding should inherit a comfortable forward position and then quicken when ready. Let’s make him a strong win play and rolling exotic single.
