Hawthorne Racecourse begins the weekend with a 10-race card. The 0.50 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 3, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 3 (7:50 PM EST)

1-Intimadation (3-1)-Team Todd Warren entry put in a couple of good qualifiers in Stickney and could fire hot off the bench. Should get a cozy trip, willing to take a swing the 4-year-old will be ready and not be bet down.
2-Wowhesarockstar N (5/2)-Comes off a sharp win and has hit the board in both starts at Haw. The Erv Miller veteran will need to prove itself at this level but so do the others.

Race 4 (8:10 PM EST)

4-Bet Mine (5/2)-Will single and fade the morning line chalk #6-Round Here Buzz who will be making its 1st start since 9-21. Hoosier shipper has hit the board in 14 of 15 races at Haw with 9 pictures. Should fit well with this crew and when the Jim Eaton-Marcus Miller combo teams up they post 24% winners.

Race 5 8:30 PM EST)

5-Heavy Pressure (9/2)-Comes off an even effort versus better in the 1st start at Haw since shipping in from Kentucky. Does good work on this oval hitting the board in 11 of 14 races with 2 wins. Casey Leonard takes the controls, and this is a scattered bunch. Should be tough to beat if improves in the 2nd start in town.

Race 6 (8:50 PM EST)

1-Great Seats (3-1)-Seems to be in the mix at the wire and has won 8 of 22 this year. This could be a trip-out win possibility and might be overlooked.
3-CopperTeen (6-1)-Ships in from Kentucky and Marcus Miller could work a good stalking trip. Has the speed to win, can offer a square price and not blush at the long stretch.
6-Play Me Rock (7/2)-This Perry Smith 6-year-old could have its way with this group if dialed on high. This is the 1st start since 9-20 but put in a decent tune-up here on 11-2. Likes to win at Haw (20-11-1-4) and will look for a big try.
