The carryover is $176,558.11 (CAN), and the Hi-5 is a 0.20 base bet with a 15% takeout. It is a competitive field and there is no telling how much the pool will grow.

Race 12 (11:22 PM EST)

My play will be to use 5-Forefather (3-1) and the 9-Bayfield Beach (8-1) on top in the Hi-5. Hopefully, Bayfield Beach won't be bet hard. Louis Roy can have this one in a close-up seat off the gate. The outside draw helps the price and could beat this crew despite the 9-hole. Forefather draws well, has been better in the last 2 races with Jason Ryan in the bike. Needed some class relief, did get that in the last 2 starts. Should be able to stalk and be in the hunt at the wire tonight.

The 2-3-4 slots on my ticket will include 3-Control The Power (5-1) with Travis Henry. My expectations are this veteran has a big chance to hit the ticket. Could get a ground saving journey and be in the mix at the wire. The 4-HF Pans Shadow (10-1) is a team Hensley entry who starts slowly and that usually hurts chances for a picture. Did roll a .55 back half to post a win in last. Probably won't be able to catch the leader this time. But the price is right to use underneath, and the fractions should be honest. The team Cullen trainee 6-Pipewrench Charlie (7/2) draws a choice post and will be leaving hard when the wings fold. Could land on top but will look to others to take the top prize. But with a smooth start this veteran should cash a check and be part of the Hi-5. To round out the ticket the All-button will be used.
