Hawthorne Racecourse has a 12:30 CST first post for its Sunday card. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 6, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6 (2:10 PM CST)

1-Sanday A (8-1)-Did win 2 straight in late December and then was put away for a month. Came back on 1-26 versus Open company and raced evenly but dd show some life in the 2nd half of the mile. Like most in this field, does need to prove itself at this level. But is a threat if brings the same effort as at the end of the year.
7-Anotherstatement A (6-1)-This will be the 3rd start off the bench and just missed in the last 2 races. Brandon Bates should have in play in the early going. Looks like a main threat and could be bet down.
8-Brooklyn Bridge A (3-1)-Had a 3-race win streak snapped at 1/5 last time. Came 1st over and the trip took its toll. Will look for Kyle Wilfong to improve position off the gate, land an efficient trip, and use one nice move down the lane to be there at the wire.

Race 7 (2:30 PM CST)

3-Foxman (9/2)-Needs its best to win at this level but toughest foes are starting outside and that should help chances. Casey Leonard could work a suck-around trip and stand tall to the wire.
9-Fox Valley Monaco (3-1)-The 6-year-old is in sharp form winning 2 of the last 3 races and could be bet down here. Travis Seekman should be in reach of the leaders at the head of the stretch and new connections could cash the top check at first asking.

Race 8 (2:50 PM CST)

1-Genie Ina Bottle (9-1)-Was a bridesmaid in the last 2 races and needed more pop down the lane to seal the deal. Did put in a training mile on 2-1 and rolled the back half in a swift 55.2. Willing to take a swing and hope the 9-1 morning line holds up.
6-Real Cool Cole (7/2)-Makes the 1st start for the Perry Smith barn off a claim and this 5-year-old likes to compete. Fits well but has little gate speed. Should be rolling hard down the lane and an honest pace would help.

Race 9 (3:10 PM CST)

1-Got The Grins (8-1)-Comes out of race where they went to the half in 101.2, did rally nicely but came up a length short. Should be closer to the leaders into the opening turn and could trip out at a price.
3-Lottie's Webb (4-1)-This is another that could benefit from a cozy trip. Should be racing at the top of the stack and looks like a player with a sharp steer.
8-Seaside Streaker (9/2)-Has bounced back and forth between Haw and MVR, and the trips to Ohio haven't worked well. Took a picture 2 back versus this kind with a big-time rally after being 10 lengths behind at the half. Drawing outside helps the price and might not hurt the chances of winning as long as Casey Leonard gets in striking range.
