Cal Expo has a 9-race card with the 0.20 Late Pick 4 starting in Race 6. The sequence has a $25,000 guaranteed pool with a 16% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6 (8:15 PM PST)

4-MyArtBlongstorock (8-1)-Comes off a couple of dull tries but they were on an off-track. Looking for a price and landed here in a race with question marks. Luke Plano came off cover to win 3 back, this level will be a challenge but the same can be said for most of these.
7-Love Your Work A (7/2)-Cashed checks versus straight Open company and has won 2 of 6 starts at CalX. Nick Roland steers his own and could beat this crew if brings a top effort.

Race 7 (8:35 PM PST)

3-Shes A Live Wire (3-1)This mare had her way with the $4k claimers and Roland can provide a similar trip. This could be a challenge but isn't out of place here.
7-Cenalta Glory (12-1)-Raced from the backfield in the last 2 starts and rallied nicely last time to come 3rd at a big number. The key here is getting James Kennedy between the pipes this time. He has steered twice at this meet and finished 2nd and took a picture. Will look for an aggressive drive at a nice price.

Race 8 (8:55 PM EST)

1-Snap Krackle Ntrot (7/2)-The form in the last 3 races has been dull and now drops to soft spot. Hasn't been in this cheap and it feels like a drop and pop situation.
2-Help Page (8/5)-Arrived from Northfield and has raced twice without much success. This is another who drops to a spot to shine and deserves respect. Has won 5 of 17 at CalX but won't offer much value.

Race 9 (9:15 PM EST)

5-Frewil Dakota Sven (7/2)-Hit the board in the last 5 races and connected for a win last time. Made the most of a nice drive by Roland and closed with a solid last quarter. Old-timer knows how to win at CalX and deserves respect.
6-Robbie Burns N (8/5)-Program chalk took control early on and didn't look back. The morning line choice looks the part and will be tough if races back to its last start.
7-Stening A (6-1)-Should offer value and has raced on an off-track in the last 3 starts. The driver change to Jim Lackey may help too. Probably needs some honest fractions and if so, can close fastest of all.
