Yonkers Raceway has an 11-race card. The $1.00 Pick 5 with a $10,000 guaranteed pool rolls in Race 5. The $2.00 Late pick 4 starts in Race 8, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8 (9:05 PM EST)

1-Finvarra A (2-1)-Binge on Yankee had an inside draw last time and got the jump. That meant landing in the pocket and being stuck on the rail to come 3rd. Tonight starts inside of the previous winner and the outcome could be different.
5-Binge On Yankee (4-1)-Got the lead and didn’t look back aided by a sharp steer by Jordan Stratton. The 5-year-old has been good and may have more to give at a square price.

Race 9 (9:25 PM EST)

1-Sherlock N (5/2)-NZ bred makes the 4th start stateside and its 2nd straight on the Hilltop. Drops to its lowest level, gets post relief, and should be a main player.
4-Rockin Talkin (2-1) Took a picture on 2-17 and now faces better but still should fit nicely with this group. Jason Bartlett sticks and showed improvement last time in the first start for the Megan Scran barn.

Race 10 (9:45 PM EST)

2-Wichita Lineman (5-1)-Drops to a competitive level in the 3rd start off the bench. Joe B should be out and rolling and could be tough to tackle with an easy lead.
5-Brake Ahead (2-1)-Won at 4/5 and now faces better. George Brennan should have forwardly placed and could double up at a small price.
6-Samhara N (5-1)-This is the 3rd start off the bench and the first 2 were dull efforts. But ANap sticks and drops to a spot to shine. This race could set up for a closer coming off cover as the fractions should be lively.

Race 11 (10:05 PM EST)

1-Soho Dow Jones A (4-1)-Rolled a .55 back half in a qualifier at YR on 2-14. Will take a swing with this Aussie bred making its first start after a nice tune up in a race without a standout. Bartlett clicks at 42% when steering for Dilloian and that barn also wins at a 27% clip off a layoff.
5-Purple Poet (8-1)-Drops after a needed start. Raced better than the line looks and was too far back into a 58.1 opening half. Fits better here and will look for an aggressive steer.
