Northfield Park has a 15-race card with the $1.00 Late Pick 4 starting in Race 11. The sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool with a 14% takeout, and it will be my focus. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 11 (9:40 PM EDT)

3-Saulsbrook Genesis (5/2)-Burke trainee ships back from MVR and lands in a good spot to get sucked-around. Will need an efficient trip, will probably be over bet but best to not overlook.
4-Sure Thing Captain (5-1)-Has raced well at this class and could take advantage of the post draw. Cory Kreiser drives his own and without Aaron Merriman at the controls the price will be better.
6-Liteningonthebeach (7/2)-Merriman sticks with the Bercury barn and when steering for this outfit he posts 25% winners. The plan will stay the same, blast out and play catch me if you can.

Race 12 (10:02 PM EDT)

4-Shamrock (3-1)-Takes a meaningful drop from facing Open company to NW6500. Won the last time in at this level with tonight's pilot, Merriman, between the pipes. Should be a main player versus this crew.
9-Magic Hill (4-1)-AMac steers for the Krieser stable and that has happened only once before. The 4-year-old beat this kind 2 back and could make some noise with a sharp steer. Might be able to land in a good early seat and should offer a square price.

Race 13 (10:24 PM EDT)

4-Downbythewater (9/2)-The Schillaci pupil make its 1st start as a 3-year-old after winning its qualifier at Nfld on
4-17 easily. Should be a player versus this group if tight enough.
5-Unique Catch (2-1)-Took the long way around after leaving from the 7-hole and drew off by 6 lengths against this kind. Draws well and looks like a double up possibility.

Race 14 (10:46 PM EDT)

1-Whiskeyontherocks (6/5)-Blasted out from post 7 and landed on the point but the trip took its toll. The small price is tough to swallow but a picture could be taken with this post draw.
3-Big Bad Mike (20-1)-The last time this veteran got a smooth trip was on 3-18. Left from the rail and came 2nd at this level. Has only 1-win in the past 41 starts but this looks like a beatable field if with a smooth journey.
